My 1 year anniversary is this weekend. wee were supposed to go on a cruise, but cant due to wifes work schedule (PM on head/taillamps for the new Dakota). So I want to go somewhere for the weekend just to get away for 2 days. Where would you recomend? Something not to expensive either. I was thining traverse City, but not sure what there is to do considering it is inbetween season. Ideas greatly appreciated!

Chicago is always a great place to get away for the weekend. It really depends on what you like to do.

I've always enjoyed Frankenmuth, lots of quaint shops, carriage rides, good food, and BEER, muahahahha
It's close to home but still kind of a vacation if you're into that kind of thing.
Did I mention the beer?

Anyway, it boils down to what you like to do. Chicago or Traverse City sound awesome too.

OK I went with Traverse City. Book a king room on the beach and 2 massages for Sunday (our anniversary). Then probably do dinner at Mountain Jacks. Through Travelocity it turned out to be less than the others.
