So my tank has been reading high on KH. My setup is about 225 total gallons (180 gallon display). My calcium is 450 magnesium is a bit high at 1420. I run a calcium reactor and kalkwaser in my ato setup. Is it as simple as slowing the drip rate out of my calcium reactor and wait a week? I know it should be simple. Oh and my KH is at 14 sadly I noticed when the tip of one of my acro's turned white and 2 monti's completely died ?

Id take the reactor of line until your alk falls in line testing everyday. TBH 14 dkh isn't off the charts high. Maybe even a small water change to bring it down to 12. Your mag at 1420 is in acceptable range. There are several popular salt mixes that mix up to that level.

Little update from this morning to now. Did a couple things, turned down the co2 bubble rate and slowed the drop back to the tank so this morning. Yesterday I made a make shift reactor/stripped out of a wine bottle lol. Alk dropped from yesterday to today to 12.6 and ph rose from 7.93 to 8.11 in the tank. Didn't test calc or mag but ended up messing around and getting quick results. As long as the KH stays above 8 I think that solved it.

The return tubes are at the bottom of this and it overflows back to the sump.

Try mixing the salt and see what it reads, if you have not done so yet. Reef crystals?

Good advice. All salts have the elements added in to the salts and some are heavier and some are lighter so they settle out. Should always stir your salt unless using the entire container at once. Even when using the entire container its still a good practice so you don't have as much calcium participating out while mixing.
