I have a Remora Pro with a mag 3 that has gotten good reviews by people. I have not used it yet as my cube tank is at a friends who is building the stand and canopy for me.
Remora or Remora Pro (depending on your tank size). About as good as it gets for hang on back skimmers.
I know others like the Turbo Flotor multis and I think MyReefCreations.com has started making a hang on unit. They make nice stuff so I would think their hang on would perform well.
I've been testing one of these: http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=47044&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500
The quality of the acrylic is great and the angled cup is a neat idea. It seems to skim about like the Remora but, because it is clear, I get algae growth in the chamber (due to intense MH lighting near the skimmer).
the absolute bomb HO is the Deltec MC600. It uses the same needle wheel technology that a big euro does. They are costly though. For the same price you can get a CS8-1 euroreef. But its all in what you want and have space for.
check in the DIY forum at www.nano-reef.com if your interested in a cheap skimmer that supposedly blows away the remora's. I'm too tired to look for the exact link, sorry. Pretty easy to find though.
