The things you really want badly only seem to come up for sale when you dont have the $$$. Ever since I was 16 (that was 9 years ago) I have wanted a 3000GT VR4 Twin Turbo. I think it is the sweetest car in the world. The eclipse just doesnt compare to the gt. Anyways I was on ebay today and I found 4. Dang it why couldnt this have happened like 6 months ago when I had the $$$ and credit to buy one =[. I guess id have the $$$ now if I had decided not to pay off a bunch of bills. All well maybe in a couple years ill be able to find one again. I dont know why but I love this car. seems odd as I will only buy american (cant say made because most of them arent) vehicles. I am watching one right now that is at 6k bid but its in kentucky and I dont think I want to drive that far for a car that I cant see in person up front. I know of a 3000gt near me for sale but it isnt the twin turbo so I dont want it. Plus one of my friends has one but his isnt a twin turbo either. the turbo goes almost 180mph(speedo goes up to 180 but I am pretty positive this car will only hit 170). while the 3000gt only does 145. Not that I would ever go that fast :D . Just thought I would get some venting out. :p

FWIW... the 3000 GT IS an American made car. It is the same platform that the Dodge Stealthj was built on and both of them were manufactured by a joint-venture between Mitsubishi anf Chrysler called Diamond Star Motors. They were built at the Diamond Star plant in northeast Illinois, about 25 minutes east of Chicago.

yup I already knew that =] (cept the diamond star part, did not realize the plant was so close to us here in michigan =].). what I ment by amercan though was like gm and ford whereas mitsubishi is japanese name. I was trying to mean the name. I mean half of my ford taurus isnt american parts.

I have compared the 2 cars and It is just something bout the 3000gt that makes me like that car more. I am no expert on vehicles by any means so if someone would like to tell me why I should go with a dodge stealth or any other vehicle for that matter let me know. and no I am not going to get a corvette. Granted I can get a $54,000 corvette for $43,000 but still. although if I had a choice between a corvette or paying 3k less and getting an ssr I think i would pay the extra 3k and get the corvette. =]

hope I didnt confuse anyone besides myself hehe.

For myself, I probably would not go with the 3000GT or the Dodge Stealth. Primaryt reason being that both of them are classified as "rare" cars by insurance agencies and as a result, there are but a select few insurance carriers that will even insure them. It is actually easier AND cheaper to insure the corvette you were discussing... go figure

haha yeah I checked on that 2. fortunately I have been with my insurance company for quite some time now and they would insure it for me. Mostly because I would make it a summer driver and store it winters and spring(stupid potholes).

As far as "Bang for Dollar" you can't beat a new Corvette, except for the new GTO. You can't get that kind of performance for cheaper.
