I've been running my 70g RR Oceanic tank personally for 12yrs with only a few days breaks when moving (3x in that period). I bought it used and I'm honestly not sure how old it is. I've been lax on upkeep lately and realized when cleaning the glass with a new blade this week that the silicone is a hot mess on the inside corners, with a good amount missing or peeling off. Nothing appears to be leaking but I'm wondering if this is chaos waiting to happen? I've been considering replacing the tank for awhile (it has minor scratches on the glass front etc) so it seems like this may be a good time.

Do you think it's a time bomb and I better get something done this weekend, or do you think I have some time? Any recommendations on a replacement, I'd like to buy something new & local is possible (I'm in Commerce Township)? I'd like to keep my oak cabinet (36x18) so the new tank would have to fit that and I'd like reef ready again so I can use my same sump etc. I know my tank has 3/8" glass and I believe that's hard to find at a decent cost now. I was thinking maybe something like a Aqueon Tank MegaFlow Black 36"LX18"WX24"H 65gal? Thanks!

That inside hot mess isn't that important - it's mainly to keep you from cutting the seal between the two panes. Keep it tidy, cut off the loose bits, and keep that tank as long as possible. really nice tank.

Although new overflows are sweet - any of the ghost versions through the back - low profile and easier to run on a siphon with emergency drains.

but I'd still keep the Oceanic.
