How sensitive is your skimmer?

The reason why I'm posting this question is because,

If I put my finger tips or just one finger tip into the water column, my skimmer has a total melt down.

The skimmer bubbles and foam will drop right to the bottom.

I want to know if someone out there is experiencing the same.

Talk about sensitive - Even feeding will do the same thing.

Then the skimmer takes a long time - sometimes 1 to 2 hours to get it's self back to performance mode.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Its normal with any skimmer. Oils from your skin change the surface tension of your water so your skimmer wont produce a foam for a few hours. Same thing with oils from food

I just looked in the general direction of my etss 800 and it collapsed! Seriously, I feed a small amount and it dies then comes back in about an hour.

Although, since Arod told me how to adjust the thing, I'm getting thicker foam.
Thanks, Bro.

I agree with Black Grand Prix. For instance, when pouring a bottle of soda pop in a glass it will start to foam up .To bring the foam down put your finger in it.The foam will go down fast from the oils on your finger.
