Has anyone ever bought anything from Inland Aquatics?

Has anyone ever taken a road trip to Inland Aquatics?

I know they are pretty well known but I have never heard any feedback about them.

I know that Steve typically stays away from discussing other stores, but Morgan Lidster (at Inland Aquatics) has been a friend to our store, so I thought I'd chime in.

I have been to Inland and also met Morgan a few times. He is a really great guy who is very honest and straight-forward. He will treat you right. If you're interested in going down to the store, the front end of the store isn't all that remarkable. Neat place, but probably not too much that you haven't seen before. The really cool stuff is in the back of the store (which is much larger than the retail area). I'm not sure how open they are in giving tours of that area, but my impression was that they'll show you around if they're not too busy. It might be worth e-mailing them about the availability of a quick tour through the back.

Hope this helps,
Clayton

I think Clayton pretty much covered the road trip part, but I can say I have ordered from them and been satisfied :)

One of the few places you can order detrivores for your refugium/tank. (IPSF also)

Have been there twice, its about 475 mile as I remember from the Ann Arbor area. You can get tours of the BIG BACK ROOM. They have a lot of nice stuff and you would be happy with there livestock. I have not bought from because I was traveling and heading out west both times (and I ONLY KEEP Hawaiian Fish whick really limits me) . I do know Morgan personally and am sure they (the staff) will take care of you. I Highly recomend them.

Thanks for the info everyone. I want to take a trip down there in a few weeks. Maybe pick up a pair of clowns. I am really interested in taking a tour. I will call down there and see what they can do.

Thanks again.

I've never been there in person, but we've ordered from them several times, and have always been happy with the results. One time we ordered a bunch of stuff from them, and that night their computer system crashed, so the shipment got delayed by a day. The e-mailed me and my wife, called and left a message at home, and called my wife at work to see if it was OK and if we still wanted the shipment. At the end of the conversation, they said they were also going to throw in some free Ricordea and some other things (I don't remember exactly what). All this without a single complaint from us. I would have been satisfied with just an e-mail explaining the problem.

FWIW, the store did have some legal troubles with the ATS system, and I know that financially Morgan took a big hit. I've heard from people closer to them that the store is not what it once was, but that's it finally recovering.
