I am newly trying to revitalize my ten year old aquarium. I picked up a GBTA a month and a half ago. It's been very pale and shrinking. Thought it was a gonner. Today I came home and it spilt four times! All in their glory!

Sometimes they split as a last survival tactic. If its pale that would suggest its losing its symbiotic algae. What kind of lights is it under? In order to save it you'll need to increase light intensity gradually. A pic would help...

They're under 250 watt metal halides. But they stay at the bottom kind of away from the light, not sure why?

I agree with weimers75 Last ditch effort at survival. what are you tank levels? nitrates PH salinity etc? Nems are hard to save when they get to a certain point..
Have pics? Also BTA's like to eat. Are you feeding it?

They'll usually move on their own...how old is the bulb? Parameters are also important to check though...

Is it sticky to the touch?

Yes it has been eating and is sticky. The bulbs are less than a year old, and no,I haven't checked my parameters lately Will do tomorrow
