About 4 years ago i bought a pair of Jebao rw 15's with dual controller. They did a great job of pushing water around in my 6 foot 150 gallon tank. In the last couple of months, i have a hard time keeping them running right. I've decided to replace them with new ones. Should i just get 2 new rw-15's to run on my exsisting controller or should i update to a different model (and if so, which one)?

Thanks in advance!

4 years is a bargain.

being the cheap so and so that I am makes me curious what you mean running right. I poked around some and found reference to replacing the ceramic bushings. with airline, of all things. the poster claims to have corrected his this way.

Yup, tried that and didn't really change much. Replaced impellers too. I can run them on random mode, but any start-stop and they tend not to start again. Now one is not starting at all. I'm a cheap sob as well, and LOVED these pumps as an alternative to a $400 brand name. I'm tired of fighting with these, so it's time to do reload!

That's a good run... I typically got a year or so out of mine. Switched to Tunze though and like them much more. You can find used Tunze for about the price of new Jebao.

The motor blocks seem to go bad fairly easily on Jebao. Not much you can do then other than get a new pump.
