hey welcome to the board.....i wouldnt go so far as to say a board full of vast knowledge but their is alot of anecdotal information.

for the crazy information go to advancedaquarist.com or reefkeeper.com. thats where all those crazy reef chemists hang out.

welcome though. did anyone mention to you that theres a frag meet on saturday? thats where we all get together and trade or sell coral fragments real cheap. its fun to hang around and drink beer and brag about our "boxes of water"

12 yr. old journeyman, now that IS an accomplishment!! Journeyman what?? Sparky, pipefitter, painter, or floorlayer like me?? Fill us all in, the more we know about you the more you could help out with when alerts go out for help on canopys and stands, etc.

Oh, and welcome aboard!

Thanks for the big welcome! Well, I thought I turned 12 a decade ago... oops, I'll have to fix my profile. Well I'm 22, would love to check out the frag swap-I've never been to one. Where at in Belleville? I'm currently in Novi, not far away.

I've been into saltwater for about 2 years now. As for my tanks

37g Oceanic w/ 150w metal halide, 30w atinic, occasional h.o.t. magnum for carbon, cpr hot fuge for mineral mud/macroalgae/etc. 4" aragonite bed w/ plenum, and a good mix of ???80ish pounds of live rock. I have all my corals in a friends 180g reef for now, I'm about to move and don't want to disturb them with the move until the tanks back up and running for a month or two smoothly.

480g acrlic 8'long 4'deep 2' tall in the process of being set up. Just ordered for the sold purpose of having some nice sharks, and possibly, the day when I can afford/have the time to turn it into a reef. Since I'm mainly just going to try and have a 2 leopards/smoothounds/horns (undecided) with possibly a school of 5 yellow tangs, I'm going with an internal wet-dry, euro-reef skimmer (depending on if I can fit it inthe internal sump area), uv for algae control, and undecided on the how deep of a sand bed to go with.
