i saw a nice lavender tang at the store and was thinking of getting it, and letting my naso go, getting too big for the tank, but i really dont know much about the lavender. i have read that it is reef safe and peaceful, but at the same time, that it is aggressive towards other tangs, which i also have a yellow tang.

any and all info on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

How big is your tank? Lavender is a easy going tang, but any tang you get might have a problem with another tang. If you have a descent sized tank your yellow tang shouldnt have a problem but if this is something like a 55 or close to thtat there would be a problem. Any specific questions about the lavender just ask.

i have a 65g tank. the naso is about 6 1/2 in. and the yellow is about 3 in. the lavender was about the same size as the yellow. i had the naso first, then added the yellow months later, and now the yellow follows the naso everywhere it goes.

It shouldnt bother then since it is used to already having a tang in there. But no guarantee.

From what I have heard the purple Tang is more aggressive than the yellows. And being that they are of the same shape of Tangs and in a smaller tank for this type of fish, I think your going to witness a savage fight between them. Good Luck on your dicision, but I wouldn't if it were me. JMHO.

im not referring to a purple tang, there is a lavender tang that is a faint purple color with orange spots on the face.
