I recently agreed to purchase 20 lbs of live rock which was described as 30 years old with beutiful color and many creatures. I am now informed that the seller had no heat or electricity for five days in our same climate. If we continue with this purchase will we be getting what we paid for? Will we be getting live rock with beautiful color which will continue to flourish?-confused

I wouldn't really worry too much about it. If you got a good deal on it, it's still a good deal, still probally better than buying a 40lb box of LR that's been in a box for whoever knows when...

On that note, my friends tank that crash about 2 or 3 months ago went without power for about 2 weeks... killer amonia ect... I still found a pistol shrimp alive, plus some hermits, a starfish, and a few corals... we managed to salvage a lot it.

Thanks for the heads up! I wasn't sure with the house being near freezing if it would still be any good. John Z
