I purchased a long tentacle plate coral a few weeks back. It appears to be quite happy. I've given it lots of room at the bottom of my tank so it doesn't get into any wars over space. I was wondering if it starts getting too big, can it be fragged? And, if so, how? Also, what are the growth rates for these corals? I'm assuming it will be quite sometime before this is a concern, but how long? Months? Years?

Thanks,
-Mike

Long tentacle plates can be difficult to keep, and I would not recommend fragging them. I have fraged short tentacle plates with no problem.

You can slice off a section with a wet saw or band saw. The cleaner the cut the better. I have one that drops clones. it is mounted on the base and drops clone below the base.
