Wow! The fish Rob is talking about was called the cuccumber butt fish over on RC.
Some things to think about:
1) If you can identify which region your new stuff is from, ie Figi, etc, you might be able to narrow down the search.
2) Some 'nicer' video cameras have a motion detection record option. Do you have someplace to put the fish that are currently in your tank? That way you could set up the camera to tape when there is movement in your tank.
3) Make sure you have all your fingers after you are done putting your hand in your tank.
4) If you hear a voice coming from your tank, get out of the house. Don't investigate, just run.
