Has anyone had any luck with mixing two different types of clowns like a lighting maroon and a black ice or any other types just wondering any info would help thanks
I've got a breeding pair of tomatoes, a pair of Clark's, a pair of misbar black snowflakes, a pair of Wyoming whites, a pair of standard ocellaris, and a pair of Picasso Onyx perculas. They all have their little zones in the tank. Tank is a 380 (8'x4'x19").

Do you mean mixing pairs or a single of each?

If you're talking about a single of each with the two you mentioned it'd be really tough. Maroons are extremely aggressive, occelaris (which black ice is a mutation of) are much less aggressive. As they grew older, both would likely become females and they'd fight.

If you were mixing pairs you'd have to do it in a very large tank or they'll fight.

Agree. Even with a larger tank it can turn into a mess once they start to become mature. It can be fine and then turn on a dime. Personal experience in an 8' 300 gallon. Even with 30+ BTA's and a few carpets. Female maroons will even take on adult emperor angels and not loose.
