a friend of mine just gave me a monti frag and i was wondering wha since i got him at about the requirements are for this species.
all ammonia, nitrates,nitrites,phosphates are 0.0
calcium 420ish
temp 79-81
i currently put him higher in the water column about 5 inches from the surface by the filter output so he has a constant flow over him. since i got him at about 1:30am last night, he's only been in my tank for a few hours. he has not opened any polyops yet but i won't get worried till tomorrow.
just making sure that everything will go well with him in my tank.

In my experience digi's have been pretty easy to keep and fast growers (even for me with horrible SPS keeping skillzzzz). Your parameters sound fine.

I think that species was my first SPS as well. I had it under MH...I'm not sure what lights you have.

i have 2 250 mh not hooked up though waiting to get my 90 drilled right now they are in my 55g with 4 96w pcs. think that will be good enough for now? i plan on using the mh's and pc's in my 90 when its all set up ( but i don't have a time frame for that) my local glass store will drill the 4 holes for 25 dollars each. i can get the core bits on ebay for 50 bucks i'm just scared of cracking my tank. dilema,dilema

Yeah they should be fine in the meantime. It is always a decision when it comes to drilling your own glass.

omarizgreat, I drilled two holes in my 75gal for $9. I borrowed a dremmel and bought a diamond glass shaper bit. I ran water over the glass as I "drilled" through the glass. It took about 45 minutes for the first hole and 30 for the second. I went real slow on the first hole until I got the hang of it. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Just another option.
