Well I picked up my tank this past friday. I had a softball tournament over the weekend, so the tank is sitting out in the garage. Here is what I ended up with...
240 gallon all glass tank
arcylic creations wet/dry (soon to be refugium)
arcylic creations overflow boxes (2)
UV sterilizer
Ozone controller
kent ro/di unit
2 skimmers
pinpoint Ph monitor
Ozonizer
about 400 lbs of base rock
about 300 lbs of sand/CC
Mag 18 (1)
Rio 2500 (2)

I have no idea what kind of skimmers these are. Maybe one of you knows something about them.

That skimmer is pretty crappy! I have one. They really suck. Get a euroreef! I have a cs6-1 and it is a scum monster. Spend the money now, it will be worth it latter.

Lets see some pics of the new tank. Also keep us posted with your new setup.

About the skimmer I agree with Neo that skimmer will not do the job on that size tank. You may want to look at a new skimmer.

lol i have the #2 skimmer. i modified it to run counter current and use a venturi as well as air stones to get a good foam. it works great this way. a lot better than it did stock.

OK when it is said that the skimmer sucks. Am I to assume that they both suck? The one in the pic labeled "Skimmer 1" looks pretty well made. Now keep in mind that I know almost nothing about skimmers, aside from "yes, it works - no, it sucks".Maybe the pic is too small to see, but does anyone know what kind this is. I assumed the one in the pic labeled "skimmer 2" is not as good. just by looking at how it is made. Kind of cheap looking.

WillC - What kind of mods did you make to yours to get it working the way you wanted. I am pretty handy. I think I could rig it up to work that way. I just don't really know how to start on that.

1st skimmer is a DAS. I'll buy it from you... but it sucks... so sell it to me cheap... better yet, give me $5 and I'll take it.

Seriously, the DAS (Dutch Aquarium Systems)skimmers were all the rage about 4 years ago. I think that M3 was the major retailer. Many preferred them to ERs. We had several at the shop where I worked back in those days, and they did work pretty well, especially if you got the non-Rio version. When I went looking for a new skimmer about 2 years ago, I wanted a DAS. Unfortunately, they seem to have quit business.

If you want to get rid of it, let me know. I'd trade a TurboFlotor for it if it's complete and working.

I have not gotten the tank set up yet. I don't know if any of the equipment works yet. I hope to at least have the stuff into the house by this weekend. The last coat of poly is drying right now. I can hardly wait!!!

pretty simply i ran it in reverse ie the out became the in and put in a venturi valve in there. then i drilled a couple of holes in the side large enought to fit air line tubing through and caulked them in place. pretty simple and way more efficient. i get no bubbles in the sump from it. good luck. and i would trade the first one to rob for the turbo floater (depending on the model of course).
