Any tank can work for sps if you know what you're doing. What is more important is water quality and lighting. Plan to have your tank up a year before any sps since you're new to the hobby. During this year, your tank will cycle, age and you'll get the hang of keeping your paramteres in check. SPS are the most sensitive corals, so its best to start with easier corals while you figure things out. Keep in mind you'll alos need to dose for calcium and alkalinity.
