I have a 46 gallon bow front reef tank. I just set up my sump, im using a cpr overflow box. everything is working the way its supposed to, but the drain that goes down from the overflow to the sump. stops about 6 inches from the water level in my first chamber. i was curious on if its ok to extend the drain to where it goes under the water. so that I don't have the splashing water sound? The tank is in my room, so that's y im curious. thanks

Yeah that's gonna be fine if you extend pipe...
Be aware that putting the drain line underwater will create "burping" in the sump. Look into a reverse durso. It'll be one of the quietest options available.

The filter socks are huge for keeping sump clean.. As stuff builds up down there you run into issues down the road.. I have ran systems with and without them both with success but I like to run as clean of sump as possible.. Look into macro algae and reverse lighting cycle to help stabilize ph level as well
