OK I see a coral in my tank today that came on a rock one of my corals was on. It reminds me of aptasia cept it is completly see through and the very tips are completly white. they look like a white ball. then it has white spots all over the tenticles. obviously my pep shrimp have not eaten it as they have ate all my other aptasia that used to lurk in my tank. there is not stem and it is coming out of what looks like a blastamussa skeleton cepts its not a blastamussa skeleton.

sounds like an americana to me. I have one in my tank that was attached to a sponge, and it sounds like the exact same thing you have.....it's harmless, and it likes dark places. Put it under an overhang or in a little cave, and it'll have it's tentacles out all the time.

hope this helps....

Taging along.. I've got several in my gf's 29. Are your white spots almost geometric in pattern?

Too damn small to take a pic with the digital camera!
