I just bought a prizm skimmer (Used)
I think i have it set up right but just wanted to ask.. since there was no instructions.. I was told there was online somewhere but i wasnt able to find them either..

anyways.. the little black air intack hose.. does that connect somewhere.. It looks like there is a spot to hook it up to on the collection thing on top but i wasnt sure..

and then how do you tell if you have it adjusted right?
this is my first skimmer so I really dont know what im doing :D

on my skimmer there are 2 ports for the airline on the collection cup....the left one is used to prime the skimmer.....once you get water flowing you pull ithe line off that port and put it on the right one.....
Hope that helps.......and Ill be looking to sell mine soon if you know of anyone that may be interested :)

thats the thing.. I have it right now were the bubbles arent flowing into the collection cup alot.. the bigger bubbles pop in the tube leading to the collection cup.. and only a very little bit of mini bubbles drop off into the collection cup.. is this right?

I mean it doesnt seem like its doing anything.. or is that how it works.. just takes time!?

at first I had it were it filled the collection cup in thelike min.s with water and now it seems like it isnt collecting anything..

should there be a pretty steady flow of mini bubbles flowing into the collection cup? Or will it be kinda slow.. like how i have it adjusted now.. the mini bubbles build up in the tube and then eventually the big bubbles push the mini bubbles up and into the colection cup..

does that sound about right?

If I remember correctly, I threw away my black hose because it kinked up often. I replaced it with a more flexible clear airline tube. Also, there is a black dial on top of the water intake tube that you will have to play with to get the correct water level in the skimmer. I believe my sweet spot used to be right at the rubber O ring gasket that seals the collection cup. May need a flashlight. After you have primed it with the dial all the way open...then slowly close maybe 10 to 15 degrees until most the micro bubbles stop flowing back into tank. IMO, I found out that the salinity had to be a little higher to get the best skimming performance out of these skimmers. Hope that helps!
