i was wondering if it is possible to put more than one goby in the same tank. i already have a pearly jawfish (yellowheaded goby) and i was wanting to add:
banded sleeper goby (amblygobius phalanea)
yellow fire goby (nemateleotris helfrichi)

other tank mates include:
1 ysm
1 blue reef cromis
1 three srtipe damsel
3 Bangaii Cardinals

i was thinking that it might be inviting disaster, but i love gobies so much.

thanks for the help guys

You might be setting yourself up for diaster. But you may luck out. I guess it all depends on the fishes attitude.

The fire gobys are really peaceful and like to swim out in the open, the damsel or ysm might give them a problem depending on how big your tank is.

The sleeper gobys are somewhat aggressive so i would watch him around the jawfish, plus they dont have that good of survival record. Unless you have a lot of sand.

Im also wondering how big your tank is?

the present tank is a 55g with about 6" of sand i aw rescued from florida at low tide. they will be moved to the new house in a couple weeks and i plan to switch them over into a 75g. prolly too small :( kind of liked the idea of a sandsifting goby.

I have a purple firefish with 2 false percs. When I first added him he was harassed, but I put the two clowns in my sump for the night and when I re-introduced them there were no problems. Of course the purple is generally considered less timid than anormal firefish, and the false percs are considered less aggresive than a maroon.
