Well i bought my first Ricordia's today..
(will post pics later this evening)

my question is.. how are these fragged?

can i cut one of the polyps up in order to cause it to grow into more polyps? Like you do with mushrooms???

Short answer yes.


From My experience:

You can cut it off of the rock and any little portion that remains on the rock will grow into a new ric. The part you removed will heal and be just fine.

You can also take a razor and slice through the top of the ricordia down to the rock and a new baby ric will begin to grow there.

If you have a loose ric, You can take scissor and cut it right down the middle and you will soon have 2 healthy rics.
