that looks a lot like my BTA when I didnt have enough light in my tank and I bought him prematurely......not saying thats the case here. But when mine is all shriveled up when pooping and what not his tentacles get all short and compact and crazy colors.....yet when he is all opened up he doesn't present any of those greens or reds
i got it for $70 and was sold as a rbt. but i seen some what thay call rainbows on reef central and it looks like one. just not sure no matter what it has some cool colors. just wanted to post and get some info. as i never seen one like this in pet stores around here. i seen it and just had to have it:3195:

post a picture when it opens up .....as my bta looks totally different when shriveled up.....How old is your tank? What kind of lighting do you have?
it has same color when open my light just drowns out color in pics so i took a night time pic to show its color 400watt over 29gal 1year old setting up a 75 soon i find to much stuff i want and 29 is almost full hear is pic but dont look the same in person much brighter

Looks just like mine, and I have also wondered if it was a rainbow because mine has easily red, green, orange, and purple tips when fully expanded (the pics are fully expanded) but when it is more shriveled it has EVERY color of the rainbow.
So can't answer your question, but id like an answer as well

Oh and to add, I bought mine as a rbta and it was the size of a half dollar, now it's a good 7-8 inches across and the colors have gotten much more defined as it has gotten bigger. I too have never seen one colored like mine.... Well until your pictures, and your pictures are a carbon copy of the colors mine has...... Hmm maybe they are siblings lol ;-)

When its bubbled, are the tenticals orange, red, yellow, etc? I've seem rainbows and they do have a little different color, IMO its a rbta with a green base/mouth. I have the same thing and heard it referred to as both a rbta and rainbow but I just call it a rbta

Rainbow has alot of color when bubbled up, like swirls in the bubbles of red, orange, green, and yellow like this. Not my pic

all of the rainbow btas i have seen have a almost lemon/lime green oracle disc that fades to orange around the outside of the disc and creeps up the tentacles while fading to pink/rose. my buddy has one of these and the vividness of the color comes and goes depending on how inflated it is.

I fed it twice a week with as big of piece of silverside or krill that it would take, got this big in about 7-8 months
