Anyone ever use this? This is probably the worst salt I've ever used. I've got really bad slime and crazy algae growth with this salt. I think switching back to Salinity after this salt is gone.

I only use Salinity now. I like it because it is very constant from batch to batch. I do have dosing pumps for Ca and Alk (2-part) which combined with the flat background of the Salinity allow me to precisely control my parameters without big swings on water-change day.

Just curious. Why would a salt mix lead to red slime and algae growth? Im just trying to inderstand.
Otra the extra mineral content in it. It will show anything that is off balance because it "does" have more to it. It's a thing that I didn't experience when first using it my system. I thought it was because I run pellets. I did experience it at one point on my current system because I overdosed something, but, yes, it does have elevated "levels" within.

It's great for elevated coral growth(I've never seen anything like it as far as a salt), but there are, just like anything else, trade offs, like also extremely high alkalinity(which can cause burns if not careful ). But it's a good salt.

If looking for lower levels out of the box, in a balanced salt, the regular red sea is also very good. I am using it now and it's fantastic for those that want to dose...

Honestly, if you could determine exactly what element is a little off, it's truly worth it. Growth rates with that stuff really is insane.. I cannot lie.. But at the same time, some things we just cannot get to work with our individual systems..

I loved it in my last tank,I truly did.. I am only experimenting because of the Alk being high and causing, what I think is burns on my few frags I have. It has been a hard decision to break away from it, because you do get the growth and great color(if you think at the beginning the color or growth is good, just give that stuff some time).. And you don't have to dose a ton.

I am one, if I see some improvement,I will tinker for a little.. It may be one thing.. And yes, any kind of algea is a turn off, so I feel your pain.. But the one thing I did do after switching and have done ever since, is use silica absorption in my ro/di.. I can't remember why.. But I know it was around that time that I did..
