i'm trying to find the name of a couple toys i had when i was a kid. one was a robot that shot missiles out of his hands. he had buttons on the hands to launch them and his head had like a spot for a space ship. if i recall there was 3 or 4 of these robots each with their own little attack thing. any idea what they were called? the toy was probably a foot tall if not taller

it's not voltron but similar.

i'm watching king of queens and it's the one where doug wants a mentalobe.

what was your favorite toy back in the day?

I remember when I was a kid I wanted a Snoopy Snow Cone machine- so I got one for my Birthday- can't remember how old I was- maybe 8 years old.

So you get the darn thing and you are hardly EVER able to use it because it is nothing like the TV commercials- it takes an adult to manually grind all of the ice. So not kid friendly........I maybe used it 3 times.

Oh well, maybe I will get the last laugh when I clean out my parents attic in however many years and sell it on eBay. My parents have a huge attic- so they kept all of our old toys- so I know I have an in-box Snoopy SNow Cone and an in boxes 5 lion Voltron.

I don't recall that sorry. One of my favorite and dangerous toys is Jarts. Remember those. They stopped making them because people got hurt. Basically it was Lawn darts. I know they make them without the steel point but it is just not the same. My friends and I played it all the time - nobody ever got hurt.

GI Joes.. the little posable ones from the 80's... I had a TON of those things, and like someone said may parents also have a large attic and kept everything.... I cashed in on ebay with them a couple years back... If I remember right I made something like $800 when it was all said and done. Parents probably had thousands invested.. LOL

I remember using Jarts when I was a kid- the metal tipped ones. They then came out with the plastic tip ones and my parents bought those too- but they totally sucked- nothing like playing with the weight of the metal tipped.

I can't imagine how many boxes of old toys that my parents have stored for both me and my older brother- my Mom is a frickin pack rat- does not throw anything away- she just puts in in the attic or closets.

I don't think she threw away ANY of my old toys as long as they were still in condition to be played with. Hmm....I think she was hoping for grandkids someday. Little did she know she would have grandcats, granddogs, grandparrots.

My brother was and is REALLY into Dr Who- he had all of the book series- I wonder if he has looked up the value on those.

OMG those stompers were all the rage! For me it was a Tonka truck, bull dozer and hot wheels. Good question it will be fun to remember those things. BTW I hated that snow cone machine...never made enough and you ran out of the flavor right away.

Did anyone else have the Atari 5200? That was a blast- but once the joysticks broke- you were SOL. My parents had them repaired locally twice until they were completely shot- but Atari went out of business I think- so system and games were useless without joystick.

shoot, i remember the day my mom came home with the 2600... i also remember when we finally got pacman for it. it had like 10 pellets to eat.

how crappy of a system must it be to not duplicate pacman?

i mean, "combat" was fun? football had 3 people on a team, and basketball was just a bouncing square that didnt stop.

Thank god for colecovision, which i still have with 10 plus games. i loved them sports controllers for rocky and the sports games.
