is there anything i should worry about with a heater in a rubbermaid container. I dont think it could ever melt it, but i just want to know. My luck is i wont ask and it will and ill wake up with a pool for a living room. anyone thanks - zach
I've used a rubber maid container in the past. If its the type you can get in any store (Lowes, HD,...) watch out they can split. Get a container that has a flat bottom, they have better support. If it is the thicker more expensive ones (most I've seen are dark grey) no problem.
i tend to be more cautious. i use a 30 gal rubbermaid for my ro/di water water changes. they had one for $5-6 and the BRUTE model. more like $20. drop the heater in and powerhead and salt. good to go. expensive hooby. what's an extra $15 to be sure no leak or heater melting.
I was wondering the same thing. Without knowing, I was leaning towards putting a glass bread loaf dish in the rubbermaid and putting the heater in there. After thinking about it further though I don't think it would be a problem.
