Sadly my prized ultra cool purple vase sponge is too big for my little biocube so this is your rare chance to purchase a show sized colony of a photosynthetic sponge! This sponge is about 3 years old in my tank and has been growing the whole time.

It has been in my seahorse tank for the entire 3 years and is still growing rapidly. It loves my ~3 year old compact fluorescent stock biocube bulbs and the minimal minimal flow of the seahorse tank. It seems to be pretty hardy and has never had any problems with any parameter swings or temperature swings. Although I have accidentally removed frags of this type of sponge from the water before with no issues I do not recommend exposing it to air just to be safe.

Remember it is photosynthetic!

I am selling it as a colony and it WILL NOT be fragged.

Price is $500.

I may be going out to Metro Airport this weekend if it would help anyone to meet me around there.

That is soo Cool, I wish my 455gal was up and running right now. I would have bought that right up. I will be cycling my tank in a few days, after that I will look you up and see if you still have it.

Good to hear your frag is still alive and well!
Thanks, I don't know about yours but I would assume it is the same way. I had it on a small peice of LR and wanted to move that piece to another spot. When I went to move it, another part of it was attached to another piece of LR after olny few days. I went to cut it with some sharp scissors and it broke free. I actually think it helped it to grow a bit larger faster as it had to fresh edges so to speak. The two pieces grew until it grew back together. Gave it about a 1/4 inch larger circumfrence and is now about the size of a .50 cent piece.

I saw this crazy cool sponge the other day. The cool thing is outside of the ocean I have never seen one this big in a tank. The fact that it grew in a tank is even more amazing. I was going to buy it myself but it is too big now for sure. It must be a full 12 inches across. Anyone looking for a rare center piece should not pass this up.
