Any clue how long silicone has to dry before you can razor off excess? I am making this sump out a 10 gal and I have big hands = hard time reaching in with multiple panels in the way.

I always tape off the lines and pull the tape after I apply the silicone. No razor and it comes out straight. If you can't tape it then a careful application should yield a clean enough line.

Wish I would have taped! Didn't realize I only had black silicone left too. The second set of chambers would be nearly impossible to tape.

wait 24 hours before trimming, silicone dries from out side in. you don't want to make a mess. that way you get a nice clean cut. slice it down where you want it, then slide you razor toward it and peel it away.
