T5 lighting questions

I want to use some flourescent Actinics in my 180 but have klmited space for T12 VHO style bulbs.

I know you have this T5 lighting Tim. Where did you get it, What did it cost and can you give me some information on it.

I built the hood and I used the IC 660 I had and a WH-7 I got from Vito. (I saw no difference in output for the T5s between the IC660 and the WH-7) The end caps I bought from Innovative Lighting Solutions http//www.il-solutions.com/. They had good prices and they had them in stock! With stand-offs they were $12 a set.
The most important part of the T5 set-up is the reflector. I justed lined my hood with Mylar (I know the single tube reflectors would work much, much better but cost is currently a factor) but it is still very bright!

If your in Dearborn let me know and I'll show you how bright 220 watts can be! Of coures I only have the 65k so I'm not sure how bright the "blues" are.

Oh and if you need 65k bulbs let me know!!!

www.reefgeek.com has t5's. They are reccomended often on RC by people I would trust. The reflector is the most important item for intensity, but if you are using them for actinic supplementation only, it doesn't much matter.

I bought all of my stuff from Krusk (HappyReefing). His prices equal Reefgeek and anyone else out there. Plus if you talk to him just right (and make your check out to him instead of HappyReefing), you'll "bypass" the 6%.

Plus, I like the fact he's local (well, in Michigan anyway), and we are helping out a guy that is "A" #1 in my book.
Not sure if he's coming or not. You could try PMing him on RC.
