I have been out of the hobby for a lil while. I need to know who makes the best / easiest to perform ACCURATELY test kits for calcium and phosphate.

RED SEA is ok but all there test are a pain in the @$$ to do. (Alot of 1,2,3 or A,B,C additives to do one test.)

I have seen several others post Lamotte for Alk lately. Is there a reason why this one is better than say Salifert?

I agree, Salifert for calcium, Hannah checker for phosphates. I use the hannah checker for alk too and like it.

The only reason I haven't purchased the calcium checker is that the testing process seems to be quite involved. Also the refills for the checker cost almost as much as a Salifert Calcium test kit. Not worth it in my opinion. I get satisfactory results from the Salifert kit.

Now when they come out with the nitrate checker, I will probably get one of those, and possibly the mag checker. Have to see what testing process and refill kits are like.

I have Hanna checkers for calcium, alk, phos, nitrate. By far the easiest for me.

They do not make a checker for nitrate yet, they do make one for nitrite, but not for nitrate. Hope you haven't been testing the wrong parameter.
