Would 2 250w MH bulbs over a 70 gallon tank be too much light? I had originally planned on using only one of the two that I have but the person that was going to take the other one has decided not to. I want to start keeping sps but also want to keep softies. Would this be way too much light for them? Also, if I were to only go with the one MH what would be the best way to light the rest of the tank for the softies? Thanks for your help

How deep is the tank?
We have 250's on our 180g-24" deep and we can keep softies fine.
Just put stuff like shrooms and low light stuff towards the bottom or in shaded areas. Alot of softies do just fine in high lighting.

I have 2x250W HQI, 2x55W PC, and 2X36W PC over my 75. The key to softies in a tank like that is positioning and indirect lighing. I have a green sinularia as my only softy and its doing quite well.. However, I had to hide my Euphillia species b/c they were getting too much light even on the bottom of my tank.
