I'm not 100% sure what I will decide to do yet, but I have been contemplating either getting out of the hobby for awhile or downsizing slightly to an easier to maintain set-up.

What I have is an 85 gallon Tenecor Flat-Back Hex acrylic tank. The stand and canopy are finished in a textured sandstone finish. The tank has a built-in wet/dry unit in the back of it with shelves for holding carbon bags, etc. I have been using the wet/dry very successfully with zero nitrates in over a year with this set-up. The wet/dry area could very easily be converted to just act as an overflow to lead to a sump.

I am very busy with work and my familial obligations lately and as a result, I do not have the time to give this tank what it truly needs for maintenance. When it is cleaned and maintained, it is a very beautiful set-up... a number of the members on this board have seen it up close and personal and I believe every one of them would vouch for how pretty it is when it's clean.

It is not an easy tank to maintain... acrylic tanks have some downsides to go along with all of the positives and one of the bigger downsides is accessing the tank and keeping the inside panels clean.

There are a few minor scratches on the acrylic... all of them will easily buff out with the scratch removal kit and buffing compound and I would be willing to have it all buffed out by the time someone picked it up if something can be worked out.

What I would be looking for is a 50 - 75 gallon tank with overflows (or at least with a H.O.T. overflow box) and a nice stand and canopy. My wife is very picky on how a tank looks, so it must be a sharp looking stand and canopy. Also, I'd be looking for it to be a glass tank. At this point, I'd be primarily interested in trading just tank, stand and canopy for another tank, stand and canopy.

I may just decide to sell the whole thing and get back into the hobby at a later date. It is a beautiful tank and gives me a lot of enjoyment, but my lack of time to dedicate to it detracts from my enjoyment.

If you have something you might be interested in trading for a really nice set-up, PM me or e-mail me to discuss. Thanks!

Edit: I would even consider a smaller system (plus cash of course) if it was a really sweet looking tank and stand.

Been There, Seen That....

Been to the JimBob house....fantastic looking tank.....the Xenia, polyps and zoos that came from his tank are exploding in my nano....

Only there for a brief visit, but things looked very well taken care of...

wish I had a 55-75 to trade....

I too can vouch for this tank. Very nice!!!!

Hey Jim....I have a 135g with an totaly unfinished stand/canopy. It is made of pine and looks very nice. I have planned on staining it a walnut color with a nice polyurethane shine. All the equipment also..wet/dry sump w/skimmer and overflow, return pump, etc.. But I guess that won't work becuase you are downsizing... :(

But if interested at all..you let me know.
