Well i thought i sold my 180. after several back and forth messages from reefpuffer
he told me he wanted to by my 180. As everyone can see there is water in my tank from my picture, so in anticipation to him coming and picking it up I caught all the live stock and moved them and drained the tank. Then he basiclly said that he wasnt sure if he trusted that it didnt leak and asked for detailled pictures of how everything was plumbed and how the sump was sent up and even went as far as saying that he didnt want to invest 450.00 in something that may have a leak.Cant beleive i just went through all this and now after i sent him a detailled email with i think 22 pictures detailled every inch of the tank, he now will not return any email or message I send him. I guess thats what i get for trusting a guy that joined our fourm just a month ago. Maybe he should ask anyone that has done trades with me or poeple I bought things from if Im a stand-up guy or if im on here lying to fellow reefers and trying to rip someone off. And the worst part, all this just for $450.00 dollars.
Hey Paul, listen man, I had no intentions of not getting back to you and I did attempt to send an e mail back last week but for some reason got hung up in my outbox, which I have now verified and re-sent. I am a stand up guy and had good intentions when we began discussing the possible sale of the tank, but don't act as if it was easy to get in touch with you my friend, I would sometimes wait 3-4-5-6 days to hear back from you about simple questions regarding the setup. I asked on several occasions if you could send me pics of the overflows and plumbing which didnt come until after you drained it, I guess I should have told you my decision was going to be based on this and not to drain the tank until I personally see it up and running. I was as patient as I could be, in fact I remember sending several pm's requesting a response to certain questions which I understand people get busy, but everything could have been said and done in a couple days if questions were answered and pm's responded to. I would have liked to see the tank holding water other than in a photo, I don't know you personally, and I have trust issues. I have been doing this for 10+ years and I have dealt with great people, and also very shady people, I apologize if I always assume guilty before prooven innocent. Now before we go rubbing people's noses in the dirt, just want to make it clear that I never comitted completely to this tank, I did say "I want to come pick this up BUT I need more details first, and detailed photos" did I not say this? And the photos arrived after tank was drained, which if we were in better communication I would have stated that I did not want the system drained until after I showed up to verify leakfree operation, which I think is not out of the ordinary for someone to want to do in my opinion? I mean $450 is not a tremendous amount of money but it is a good amount for me, enough for me to want to inspect every aspect of the setup before I commit to a purchase. Furthermore in the photos you sent me of the drainage plumbing I noticed some of the silicone in the bottom 6" of the tank was missing, and I plan to be in the hobby a long time, and this may just be cosmetic but it also may be a future problem, not a chance I am willing to take. I have decided the acrylic route and will be picking up a 308 gallon on Monday. I am sorry I didnt get the e mail out sooner, but I did try, and as far as I am concerned I did not fully commit to the tank as I was always asking for pics and did not recieve them, words can say a lot, but pictures do not lie my friend, and all I wanted was to see for myself before I committed, and when I did finally see, I realized it was not for me. Nice for a fish only, and good deal, but not for me. Good luck with the sale my friend, sorry for the misunderstanding.
