Ok, you all have read my posts about my new tank and all that. Well, I had major problems with it yesterday. I shut of all the pumps to feed my fish. Waited about 10 minutes or so and turned everything back on and checked to see if everything was going as it should and walked out the door. The battery in my truck was dead, so I had to jump it. Next thing I know, my daughter comes out and tells me there's a flood. Dangit! Sure enough, overflowed the tank 'cuz my overflow box lost siphon (DIY). So I cleaned it up refilled the sump with fresh saltwater. Plugged everything back in and my VHO's quit -- arcing in the plug. Ok, cleaned it out with RO water, dried and got them working. Everything is working great so I leave for the hardware store (3 miles away). Get back, flood again. Now I'm really peeved. Mopped everything up, refill, fix VHO. Plug in my MH, fried it. Well, ok then. I have to meet someone to pick up some new corals. It's been a couple of hours and I determined the problem with the overflow box (leaky pipe.....perm fixed it!!!). Go to pick up the corals. Get home, start to get the corals squared away. Stick my hand in the sump for some rubble and notice that one of my heaters was acting funny......uplugged it and pulled it out.....broken. Ok, so I ALMOST DIED. (NOTE: GFCI WILL BE INSTALLED ASAP!) Unplugged the other heater and it was broken as well. Now I'm really screwed as it's after 9 pm at this point, no place to get a heater. AHHHH
After a restless night, I got up to a tank at 72 deg. Ouch. Immediately ran to get new heaters (well, I had to wait 'till they opened). It's now 7 pm and my tank is back up to 81 deg and everything except my finger leather and the new star polyps are open and doing well. Even my new hippo tang is doing fine. Haven't seen the blenny yet but I'm sure he's in there somewhere.
What a bad bad day.
Thanks to daytonight for bringing up the corals! That alleviated alot of the badness <G>.
