Title pretty much explains it ive heard good things about these if anyone has one at reasonable price they want to get rid of. I have 3 tangs now.
So i just wanted to get something that might actually do his job. I have a cleaner shrimp, my tangs come by sit and wait and even change colors wanting to be cleaned, but he wont do anything.

Gobies do an awesome job, but you can only have ONE as they are territorial and will fit. The first one I ever saw I bought and I haven't seen anymore since for couple months now.

My tang prefers the goby over the cleaner fish

The yellow tang opens up all his fins for the goby each and every time. It's very fun to watch the goby go to work.

Feeding the goby is not a problem as it eats everything I've put into the tank that it can fit in its little mouth...flake, pellet, frozen, cyclops. It is very easy to keep!

Get one if you can! [D]

Thanks for the info guys, i will probably end buying one from a lfs if i dont find anyone thats wanting to get rid of theres. The reason why i say this is because i try and get a fish that has been living in a tank for awhile and is already adjusted to aquarium conditions, so when i move him theres usually no chance of dying. All of my fish in my tank. Did come from fellow reefers, and not one of them. Has had died or had any parasites with the exception of my blue tang for a short period of time. Usually the neon goby is a pretty hardy fish, but a lot of the ones you buy have ich. Not really saying if the fish stores fault they are just so prone to it. Well thanks again everyone!

The wrasses primary food source is parasites, so unless you have a bioload of 50 fish they usually start picking and irrating the fish to clean them, then after awhile die because there is not enough food.
While the cleaner goby, will eat normal food too. So he does not depend on parasites.

I havent really heard from anyone how long they really live, but it could be they only live 2 years. Cleaner shrimps only live about 2 years. So it could be possible. But they 2 years still would be worth it.
