THEY SELL OCTOPUS BUT...WHAT INTERESTED ME IS THEY SELL AMPHIPOD KITS AND MINI CLAMS(FOR OCT FOOD) THAT ARE LIVE....BUT THEY ARE ALSO GREAT WATER FILTERS FOR REEFS...TO PUT IN YOUR SUMP,FUGE,OR TANK....
AND THEY SELL ALGAES ...PRICES LOOKED PRETTY CHEAP ON THIS STUFF....
LIKE 100 MINI CLAMS ARE $10 PLUS SHIPPING....
BUT THOUGHT IF SOME PEOPLE WANTED TO DO A GROUP ORDER MIGHT BE WORTH IT...LET ME KNOW

I BEEN TALKING WITH THEM ABOUT THE OCTOPUS B4..THEY HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL...
I EMAILED THEM TODAY EXPLAINING THE GROUP ORDER TO SEE IF WE CAN GET A DISCOUNT AND HOW BIG OF AN ORDER WE WOULD NEED FOR THEM TO WORTH WHILE....
AND I ALSO ASKED ABOUT THE LIFE SPAN OF THE CLAMS IF USED IN A FUGE...OR SUMP...SO HOPE TO HAVE INFO FOR YOU TOMORROW...THEY USUALLY ANSWER ME BACK THE NEXT DAY....
BUT LIKE MOST TIMES...THE BIGGER ORDER WE CAN GET THE BETTER....

If this is of any help, the Pod Farm bugs, gammarus spp, I have a bunch of those in my fuge. I've bought live sand from Fish Doctors and Tropicorium when I started up my tank. So I have lots of gammarus and other critters that I cannot identify. I can't say as an absolute if the bugs came from either of those places as I the original substrate was also from an established tank.

The gammarus can get quite big, at least for a bug. Maybe almost 6-8mm. Very visible, you don't have to squint too hard to see them. Make sure you have LOTS of algae for them to live in. I have about 5 different kinds of algae in my sump and they crawl all over it and the live rock too.

If my sump wasn't already crawling, I'd certainly buy some. It sounds like a reasonable deal. I've seen other online companies charge almost $1/bug. Sheesh!

In the description, it says what kinds of food the pods eat. I've never fed my sump. So I'm guessing they eat all the leftover food that comes down the overflow and what not.

Good luck everybody!

talked to them and they said they will give us a bulk order discount(didn't say how much)....
and also said mini clams are great for sumps ,fuges, and sand beds in tanks....said they will dig into a sand bed and sift....said they live 2-3 years and can get 2-3 inches...
so i plan on getting an order together so let me know what everyone wants...

I was very intrigued by this also. I am looking for something to add to my refugium that would stir the sand other than the pods and worms. I posted this question on saltwater.com and think you should check out the results. I am not trying to talk anyone out of it but they brought up some very good points about the clams. it is on the reef tank section or just look up posts from jja. Let me know the results if you go with the clams because i am still curious. The price is tempting but it sounds like you could end up causing more harm than good.
