i have a 120 with dual corner overflows and returns and a 55 gallon breeder planned as my sump this will be my first tank with a sump as im just getting back into the hobby after being out for about 13 years . not sure what i really need for a pump ??
I always make the same recomendations for return pumps, so I sound like a broken record, but I really like to use two Rio+ 2100 pumps. Very energy effecient, two for redundancy, exceptional reliability, and they are dirt cheap compaired to other pumps of similar specs. If you can run them on two differen circuits you have a major added bonus to reliability, if one breaker pops you still have a healthy tank. They had them on sale for $19 a piece a decade ago and I bought 2 of them... wish I had bought 25 of them. They are still running for me. I spec them on my watt meter yearly and they are running 23-29 watts, well under their rating.
