I'll give you a hint, 'The day the lights went out'.

I was at work and ended up working non-stop through the blackout keeping servers up and customers happy.

What other major events can you remember? Challenger disaster?

I was at work too. Came home and just dealt with keeping generator running. Luckily I had a couple of cans of gas on hand. I now try to keep 3 - 4 cans of gas, just in case.

Now you mention the Challenger, I remember the wife and I were at the mall in Sears looking at TVs when it first aired on the news. Are jaws dropped. We couldn't believe what we were watching.

I was leaving home to run some errands, and everything went dead. I tried to call my girlfriend at work, but the phones wouldn't work. I got into the car, and all the radio stations were out...I thought...nuclear terrorist strike, EMP...this is it....HOLY SH*T!!!

Then I remembered an EMP would've killed my car as well....

So I calmed down a little after that, and when the radio stations came back on, reporting the major blackout, I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief.....

HOLY SH*T! What am I going to do about the tank?!

Here we go again.....

I left work early and went home and went to sleep! when I woke up the power had surged, my pump stopped!!

I went and tripped the breaker, it came back on then went out again until 3PM the next day.

luckily (like I was so lucky) I had just lost everything to infamous DSB move and sunsequent RTN that devasted my acropora collection!

this time last year.

I was fishing in a tournament up in the soo, friday after weigh I went back to the motel to call work and check on the employees, no answer, now I am gettin po'd, they left work an hour early...

when I finally reached them by cell, they tell me that the power was out and my fish tank wasn't working..I immediatly called my wife and told her to start making water to do partial changes throughout the night , fortunatly we have had many tanks over the years and she knew what to do.

Couldn't catch fish to save my life on Saturday, to worried about my tank, blew off the last day of the championship and came home.

All in all, only lost some fish and a few shrimp.....

Sad part,,,,,,,,,Still do not own a generator, thousands of dollars in corals and too cheap to buy one.........

I had the day off and we were in Tanks A Lot when it happened. Came home and hooked up the Generator right away for the first time. It paid for itself during that blackout, Hubby went back up to the store to see if Don needed help with his tanks.

John, I just seen a Craftsman 3500 Generator for sale in a paper for $300.00 with only 10 hours on it. If your interested, I kept the #.

Mike, sorry for your loss on RTN. I never knew that you went through that. You had such nice SPS!
