I have a recently cycled tank about 3 months old, used rock from one of my other tanks purchased 2 triggers one has already died both had this shedding type coating my local store has been no help please help!!!

Sounds like velvet
Have you check your levels? Could be ammonia burning the skin. The new best of the tank doesn***8217;t help. Old rocks or not just moving them will cause a cycle. If levels are good then I would go velvet and an underlying bacterial infection. Until you give us your levels there isn***8217;t much we can add.

No matter what check the ammonia levels.
If is velvet a fresh water dip will help and the only real effective treatment is copper.
Do the fresh water dip in a clear container. Then check so see if you can see if anything came off.

I’d also get some antibiotics as they are likely to get secondary infections.
