Since I switched to halides on my 29 my open brain hasnt been doing too good. Its getting too much light and I dont have room in my little tank right now for this coral to be moved somewhere shaded. it still eats and is puffy during the day but its getting white (its still red, but not as red) im asking $35 obo

it was happy with pc lighting, it did the best under that. after a week under haldies its not looking happy. still accepts food, just getting pinker and pinker by the day. with a little tlc and pc lights i have no doubt it'll be good as new soon

illl try to get a picture up today

oh yeah, ill also accept trades. zoas or sps...

I'm curious for a picture, but until then do you have an idea on its size?

sorry that my pics stink and such but its the best i could do. when the halides are on (like now) its all hard and stuff, when they are off and the actinics are on its normal and poofy... I moved it last night to the only shaded place in the tank, under the feather duster

oh yeah, and i have my halides come on at 5 and go off at 9. so it looks normal when i come home early from work but as soon as those halides come on it shrivels or something

u should have kept the same light period with 4 layers of screening and just removed one layer each week... it may be pinkish just because of the little bit of light it was recieving.
that was the original plan, but i have a small tank and the heat from the halides plus 3 layers of screen equaled a hot tank in only a hour. so i switched my original plan due to the swing in temps, so far its been at a steady 82-83 when i had the 3 layers on it jumped from 79 to 83 in an hour and i got nervous. i found nothing wrong with using my method and slowly increasing the light period during my research. i did have the brain on the sand in the open to get the most light from my pc's but the halides are spotlighting that same place so it didnt take long for it to get irritated. open brains are fragile :)
