Seriously. Do we really want a scammer in office? Amway is just one giant scam. I don't want anyone with close ties to bush.

pmd, we won't be selling Amway. "Bob" in India will be selling Amway. DeVos is an outsourcing fool, how is that good for Michigan.

Vote for me... I promise two aquariums for every home! Free waterchanges!

And most importantly, I promise not to suck over a billion dollars out of our state economy (That could of been spent buying things) by shifting property taxes forward and denying it was a tax increase!

Michigan has an abundance of landfills for regular waste and special wastes, hazardous/industrials.
Don't say it like its a bad thing. There is nothing GOOD about landfills. How much forest did they have to destroy to create one of those. Must have been a ton, since we have an abundance.

Canada dumps here because it is darn near impossible to get new landfills going in Ontario.
GOOD for them!

Above all, I will be voting for Granholm this year to keep Devos out of the white house. I truly believe he will make a stepping stone out of our state office. Go ahead and look up the whois info for DevosForPresident.com! Who do you think owns the rights to that? That's right. Dick Devos has already registered it. Going out on a limb here with my personal life... but I am a pro-choice, liberal, lesbian, that is attempting to have children with my partner. I cannot afford the possibility of another 8 years of religious rule governing the laws of this country. There is just too much at stake for me.
Bravo!!! and well said!!I agree that religion has no business guiding laws because it is not all inclusive. Laws should be based on what serves the greater good for the people and not what a group of short sighted people are afraid of or deem as wrong for them. Even though religion has always had its hand on the quills of law makers and those tha would call themselves "Devoted to Morality and Right" I challenge this as a fallacy!!

I think that if people want to be religious and wprship whatever then so be it but do not impose this on others and makes laws preventing the pursuit of happiness because people do not understand a life style!!!

I also think the trash dumping is garbage too!!

You're right.

I'm tired of those religious fanatics that have lobbied for laws that impede my ability to enjoy my lifestyle.

Being Mormon and all, this country has infringed on my ability to have the seven wives that I want. The darn Christians don't understand this lifestyle and have prohibited me from truly living the Mormon life.

I like a drink now and then and if I should forget to purchase liquor on Saturday night, I have to wait until noon on Sunday in the state of Michigan to purchase alchaholic beverages because those Christian nuts have seen fit to pass laws prohibiting the sale of liqueur prior to noon on Sunday. I guess they think people should be in church instead of having a libation or two or three on Sunday morning.

And you know, being as I can't have my seven wives and the one I do have isn't always cooperative I would like to avail myself of a prostitute now and then, but those religious whacko have seen fit to make that illegal too. Even if it was legal, most likely when availing myself of this service and the young lady in question wanted to shoot up prior to the "event" these imbeciles have seen fit to outlaw heroin.

I wont even talk about my brother the NAMBLA member and how they have infringed on his ability to engage in his chosen lifestyle.

I just don't get these Christians. They're going to be the ruination of this great land of ours.

I wish you all the luck in supporting your seven wives and large family and believe you should have them if you desire!!... I hope that you are able to figure out how to brew your own beer so there is no need for you to buy alcohol at the store should you forget.

Being a Nurse if you do avail yourself to a prostitute do not forget to bring protection for I have seen the heartache that AIDS can bring and I would not want you to suffer from the incidental illnesses that come with a deficient immune system! Stick to your seven wives or better yet stop being rediculous.

Am I to imply from your response that you feel it's ok for the government to infringe on certain lifestyles as long as it isn't yours?

I would not imply anything but I will tell you straight out if you'd like. I personally do not care!! And guess what!! I am a heterosexual!! I just dont think that making laws like "The Marriage Protection Act" are ethical!!

am I to guess that you assumed from my support of 300E that you think I am Homosexual and are indeed prejudice in your views and response here?

I know Morman people like yourself. Have been to the Morman Church on Greene Rd in Ann Arbor several times to play Basket Ball with a friend of mine who happens to be....... You guessed it a Mormon!! I know some Jewish People and a few Muslims to that I enjoy talking to about their points of view! I try to keep my line of thinking open and that means I keep it open to all possibilities

No, as long as it isn't absurd!

NAMBLA members should be put to death. That is not a religious opinion its a human one.

I agree with Hopkins on this one and your response is aso out there!! That is not a lifestyle it is a freaking Crime!! Thats like saying internet predators have alife style or being a BIGOT is a lifestyle!!! Heck you could say that being a serial Killer is a Lifestyle to for that matter!!

Plain and simple - I don't think that it is the government's job to infringe on anyone's lifestyle. Not based on a Christian mandate anyways. If you want to have 7 wives. I think you should have the right. I personally think that putting up with 7 women in one house would be something akin to torture, but as an American that should be your choice.
Our President's attempt to write discrimination into our US Constitution with the FMA is beyond comprehension. I can understand if my sexual orientation does not fit into your religious beliefs, and I can respect that. But as an American citizen I should be granted the same rights as you. I should be able to visit my spouse if she is in the hospital. I should be able to make medical decisions that affect our lives. If something were to happen to me, I do not want her and our children denied my pension and death benefits. These are things that most people are able to take for granted. I can not. These are things that Mr. Bush thinks I do not deserve...Simply because it is against his religious belief. That is absurd. That kind of thinking must be turned around.

Anyone see Man of the Year with Robin Williams? Good movie.

Ill vote when someone actually represents the people that voted them in instead of the logos sponsoring their campaign.
I haven't seen the film... looked like it would be good, though. (nice segue)

Yes, we need a change from the stupid auto based economy that we have now.
Bingo.

For those who feel that the economy is all Granholm's fault, the only question I have is what will DeVos do to improve it? I'm serious. Nothing that he has said or written shows any evidence that he has any plan to do so. We've seen what happens when political people jump into something without a plan.

Blaming the economy on Granholm ignores the Big 3 and UAW, which are the combined cause of the Michigan recession. Whether you see it as the Big 3 cutting jobs to keep profits or the UAW asking too much, this is the heart of the issue, and any governor will be a sideline observer in the long haul.

There's a big difference. With plural wives, as I see it, it fosters a situation of discrimination against women. However, it's still a choice by a consenting adult (except in the small ultra-religious communities in Utah and Arizona, where it is forced on them). So I say have at it.

Because a child can't consent, NAMBLA is a different issue. It's also an issue that is restricted not just on Christian values, but by every major religion.

that's fine, except that not everyone worships on Sunday. Orthodox Jews, for example, worship on Saturday (the 7th day of the true calender).
I'm having friends over to watch the football game on Sunday, I realize that I don't have as much to drink in the fridge as I thought I did, and I have to go to the grocery store anyway for some sandwich meat and chips. Now I can't get that and get home until after the game has started, or I have to go and get most of my stuff, and then make another run later after it's past noon. It's simply an inconvenience. Not being able to buy it before noon on Sunday won't stop people from drinking. It's a fairly arbitrary law.

It may not be her fault but she has done nothing to improve it. Seroiusly folks WHAT HAS SHE DONE? we are just beginning to feel the effects we are in trouble in this state and we need someone who can go to Washington and get some help. As far as education goes, have you seen what she has done to the local school districts? Excepting Detroit, where she sent all of our tax dollars.

What good is an "educated workforce" when everyone under the age of 25 is moving out of here. It is time for a change, she has had her turn and waisted it. The more I have thought about it last night the more I have decided she must go.

I think that we are in trouble as a country also  but I do agree that I am not sure the Granholm is doing what she can in the best interest of educating our young people and attracting business to the state. I don't know that I like Devos much better and it seems to me that we should have better choices that we do. But life being what it is this is what we have to pick from.

Devos: I can't trust a guy that does not want to get paid for doing his job! He will be compensated in one way or another I am sure and this was just a ploy to get our attention and capture votes. I also still don't know enough about him to make a solid decision for him.

Granholm: Does not have a clue! Seems to talk out of both sides of her head and is the equivalent of a person riding a stationary bike expecting to go somewhere! She simply spins her wheels and why doing so cost us more and more jobs.
