I went out of town for a few day's and the morning after I got home I woke up to a sick all over my carpet dog. Went and got a carpet cleaner and took care of that. Then I went to the WMU home coming game on Sat and thank God I came home that night because a snail got up in the refeg or the auto top off or whatever and I had about 15 gals of salt water on my carpet. So back to get a cleaner to suck that up. Then messing with this tank to make sure everything is running good again. Anyway I think I'm gonna go on craigslist or ebay and sell the tank. This tank make's me nervous, I would hate to have something happen again and these animal's get sick or worse.I don't know, maybe I just need a good night's rest? Right now I could just sit and cry, tomorrow may be a better day and I change my mind.

I know the feeling. I've left my RO unit on a couple of times and then went to bed... whoops! (Stoopid!)

I've had a turbo snail clog my old overflow after I took out the foam to clean it and then forgot to put the foam back in. (Dumb.)

We've all been there. Just stick it out & you will be happy you did.

it happens man, everyone has had horror stories and moved through them. for instance i had my tank break on me twice. just means i need a stronger tank ;)

just learn from mistakes, do as much research about this stuff as possible and keep pluggin away

FYI you should put a valve on you auto top off so that if the valve sticks on it the tank fills at a slightly faster rate then it evaporates.

I set my auto top off to a 1/2 second drip. The valve is almost always on. This way if it does stick it fills only slightly faster then normal and you can caught it before it gets to bad.

Good Luck and keep fishing.

It's really not about greed? My son moved out and this was his tank, he couldn't take it. I really don't know much about how to care for it. For the most part it run by its self pretty smoothly, but when things happen like the other night I panic. I would hate to have these animals get sick or worse. The tank has been up for 4 years now, it would be terrible if something happened.
