Using stone/grave from lowes or rock yard?

What has everyone used other than aquarium store bbaught rocks for there freshwater tank.Im trying to stay as cheap as possible but look good in this tank i am setting up.And i was looking at like, pea gravel,river rock and other sand rock from lowes.Whats all your thoughts .

I have used pea gravel from lowes on a ton of freshwater rocks. Just make sure your rinse it and rinse and rinse it before you put in the tank. Its very dirty

I use pool filter sand from pool supply store in my planted tank. I like it a lot and it was cheap.

I've also seen black blasting abrasive from tractor supply used. Needs to be rinsed well, but looks very nice in a tank if you want a black substrate.

yeah looking to stay with gravel of some sort cause its gonna be in a tattoo shop parlor and i will be taking care of it so i need low maintenance and easy to clean.And yeah i used the pool filter sand in my stingray tanks and ii love it.
