Thanks.

I am going to try and use space I pay for on comcast.net. You can do this from the MR picture gallary, right?

I actually have a program that came with the camera that makes resizing very easy and you can size by the bit, pixel, inch and more. I just want to post those great big pictures :D I also need to learn to actually use the camera. Maybe we need a learn to take pictures of your tank meeting for our club ;)

If you are wanting to post larger pictures in a post......... then the MR gallery has nothing to do with it.... you are only allowed so much space in the gallery and you would use it up very quickly....

photobucket.com is free......... and simple........ they have their own upload software........ and resizing software once it's on their site...... and then they even provide the links that you just need to copy and paste into the post to link to the large picture....

cannison, go look at the post you made above and click edit and look at the IMG tag I put in there for your picture....... you'll see how it has to be
Why is it when you put in the ["IMG"]URL ["/IMG"] Tag that after you preview the post it turns into the HTML code of <img src=URL>?

I mean I understand now I have to use the back button in my browser to finish it up if I want to continue to edit.

It's kind of silly if you ask me.

Its a known bug that Vito is working on, along with the spell check problems.

looks like a good place to test jpg insertion

from photobucke.com
pasting the URL
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c144/headdead/stand003.jpg
which, strangely enough, pastes the URL

Now click the "mountain w/ sun" icon and paste the IMG field:

Didn't even come close to working. You'd never know I bought my first PC in 1984. An original IMB PC. I feel so insignificant.

This time I'll just paste the "IMG" junk without clicking the pretty icon first:

Eureka!!! Lesson: open a free account on photobucket.com, upload photos after ensuring they conform to the 340x340 pixel and 70kb? size limit, and copy/paste the "IMG" field to your thread.

Every one,

If some one is sending e-mail with pictures under the .jpg files. How do I load it on to one of my MR post ? I tried the way Deb show us on this site, the step one but it didn't work.

mattt.

Mattt,
If I understand right, you are receiving the jpg file in an e-mail and want to post the picture in an MR thread.

If so, you will have to save the picture to your hard drive, upload it to a picture host (ie. PhotoBucket), then paste the IMG code into the thread.

REMEMBER: do not preview the post! If you do, then you will have to hit the BACK button (upper left screen corner) to go back from the preview to the original, then hit SUBMIT REPLY or SUBMIT NEW THREAD.

For a little clarifaction, the "IMG" button is on the 2nd row and starting with the B it is 14 buttons from right to left over, kinda looks like a mountian on the buttom (maybe it is a mountian, I am not sure). Maybe it was only me that needed that clarifacation. For photoshop users if you press alt + ctrl + I you will get the image resizer, then change the very 1st box to 650 (where it says width) then when filing it go to Save for Web option and then it should be a nice managable size.
