Andrew, I would take some pre-orders from folks here. I don't think that much ricordia will sell, but the critters will surely go quickly. We were talking about doing another type of order, but I think we should give our brethren here a shot. What can you do for us? In other words, what's available and at what price?

anyone from Kalamazoo area plan on attending and want to car pool? I live in otsego and have seating for 7 in my minivan, that includes driver hehe. Now that I know mucho will be going to it and he will be bringing some stuff for me ill be going =].

Hello everyone, I've been gone since this time last year. I remember when the big party was being planned at Jay's house last winter[I think it was Jay's!],and while I planned on coming, I didn't make it for some reason. Anyways, I was thinking about that frag party for some time now, so I finally posted on ReefCentral to see if anyone could direct me to you all. Presto, I found you, and I'm not to late to take part in the big party.

I will have some live Rock, a few starter kits for those reefers trying to start up a refugium, some bags of Macros with plenty of life mixed in too, and some live sand if anyone needs that also.

I read over alot of this very long thread, but not all of it. If you need any of this stuff, then email me. I'll also bring plenty of extras

I may have some ricordia frags too.

Would anyone be interested in toadstool leathers, finger leathers, xenia. I will be looking for some sps frags. I would also like to take part in a group buy on some sps colonies. If anyone else would be interested in this maybe we could start a thread to gauge interest. We could also buy colonies and frag them up. Hopefully someone with some more experience is interested.

I'd like to come to. Never been to a frag meet. I don't have much to bring but if anyone is interested I do have a ton of capnella - Kenya tree that seems to grow like a weed and seems to drop a branch about every other day, I have had to throw some away cause I don't know what to do with it. I could bring about a dozen or so small frags about 1-3 inches in size.

This will be my first frag fest. I thought I wasn't gonna make it, but plans were changed and now I will be able to come [)]

I was wondering how the frag fest is done. For instance, do we bring stuff and stand around going from person to person or are there tables/chairs to show off our wares?

Don't know if I missed it one of the posts, but what is the running time for the fest? Do people show up all at once or trickle in during the day?

Sorry for all the newbie questions.

Sunny, Most people show up at the begining. As far as how things are done most people wander around and look. But if you are brining alot of stuff you may want to consider brigining you own table.

Last year at Murph's people prety much got there at the official starting time. After about 30 minutes of chat upstairs around the 8' tank, the food, and in the living areas, people started gradually drifting into the basement.

That's where the huge sump system is located. It's also where the swap activities took over... the scene looked like a marketplace with deals being struck in every corner. Some folks with a lot of stuff kinda set up "shop" in various spots. Some had signs, some had buckets or little tanks with lights to show off colors of frags. It was very cool! Had to be 125 people down there.

well it looks unanimous. i agree with alowing him to come. i think my ban on professionals only encompases those that are buying frags from hobbyists to sell in stores. to me that just pissed in my wheaties last year after i found out about it. it does seem like eveyone posting here is saying no frags to trade just money, so i think this would be a good idea. i remember this guy from a meet we had at tim's house and he did have nice stuff. i guess the only thing i would like to see is that maybe he could offer a FRAGFEST discount or possibly make a donation to michiganreefers.com since we are offering him basicaly a captive audience. i dont have his contact info so if someone could e-mail me his contact info so i can make arrangements with him. thanks! there will also be some other interesting items for you guys with large tanks to oogle over. murph

Hey Jay,
I was planning on attenting the fest but over the weekend I blew out the tendons in my ankle and am now confined to crutches. I understand the gathering will be in the basement, do you think it would be too hard to navigate around with crutches? Also would that be too much of an incovenience to others that will be attending, confined space and all?

Hopefully people will be encouraged to trade frags, or sell frags at reasonable prices. That is why we come here instead of the LFS. A previous year, I remember a couple with a laptop at a trade that seemed more interested in the business than the hobby. They were selling at LFS prices, and weren't at all interested in trades. I believe most of the people who come are looking to trade for interesting frags, or a few $ to pay for electric bills.

I would like to come but may have to work want to set up a nano and need some stuff. I am pretty new to the site so it would be cool to actually put faces to the names I've been talking to. Sorry if I missed it, but is the a starting time decided on yet?
