Added some salt and found a few tiny leaks in the plumbing I need to patch up. Still trying to decide on lighting. I'm worried about my bracing causing shadows with T5s. I think if I went with 3 MHs I would not see them.

Looks great!
Thanks.

I ordered my T5 setup which should be here on tuesday. Hopefully I'll have it fired up by the end of next week.

Today I checked my water parameters for the first time. I added calcium and magnesium. My alk is a bit high but that should fall with the addition of calcium I'm hoping. PH is a bit low but its way to early for me to be highly concerned at this point.

Lights are here and in! Still have some adjusting I want to do to get it hanging just right but for tonight this will suffice. Pictures came out way more blue then it is. I will have to read up on picture taking to get this corrected. Lots of air bubbles, hoping my new filter socks coming in tomorrow will help take care of this along with some of the slime that will start to build in the next few weeks. With so much flow through my sump and it being so short I may end up using another tank to extend the sump length to let the bubbles die down some but I'll give it several weeks before I go that far.

Nice work! I always like the inwall tanks. However I just keep getting distracted by the naughty(knotty) pine, lol. I think it looks good on its own, but with the tank in the wall it sticks out like a sore thumb. I think I'm with your wife on this one, I'd paint it.

Thanks, I may end up painting this wall and then if we like it we'll take it across the whole basement.

Tank looks good, Im with your Fiance and Tewkes on this one that pine needs to get painted or leave Are you going to end up putting a background on the tank or painting the back? Would really clean it up.
Thanks, I planned on having a black background around the back and sides hopefully tonight.

Easy fix, drywall over the notty pine.
Thought about it but I wouldn't want to do only the one wall and if I were to do it all then my receptacles would be sunk too far in. Ripping out the pine and then putting dry wall in is not an option because the frame behind the pine would not support this option. More likely that I will paint over it for now. If I live here long enough then maybe the whole basement will be redone.

Leave the pine walls. I think its great. I have it in my basement, very rustic. You can make it look great still just do some nice trim work around it. JMO. Tank is looking great by the way.
Thank you, I do plan on trimming it out. Hopefully in the next month.
