I have been doing freshwater for around 5 years and am bored with it. So I am looking into converting my 65 gal 36 x 18 tank to salt. I am debating on if i should do a fish only tank or a reef tank right off the bat. I know i will eventually want to go reef but I also am looking at the money factor and am gonna have to buy alot of jewlery to make up for the cost of good lights. I also want to know if i should buy good quality used equipment to start with or just go get new. From what i gather I have most of the equipment I need already. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

new stuff

I purchased a pro Aaqua systems 300 wet dry filter with a cpr 90 prefilter a maxi jet power head mp 1200 a mag drive model 18 a kent nautalist protiens skimmer and 40lbs of live sand all brand new in the packages yet for 300.00 from an indiviual who is getting divorced. He was in the process of setting up a 150 gallon. I also bought 150lbs of figi live rock for 300 dollars from him and he will throw in his fish for free. Am i missing anything besides more sand and sea salt? Is 150lbs to much live rock for my 65? Thanks

my filters

I have an undergravel with 2-802 power heads then a fluval 304 canister filter. I also have a brand new rio 1400 power head. The lighting is just a 25 watt single tube. I also have a 450 watt heater. Thanks.
