feed them at the same time everyday they will learn themselves I know it seems odd but it's true. San Francisco bay Aqurium has a ton of it opens everyday 5 minutes before 3pm because they feed it a 3pm on the dot.. :D

This has always been my favorite coral. For some reaso mine is open most of the time. It's open right now actually.

i have only seen mine open once or twice what is the best way to get it to open just feed it earlyer
Others might have better ways, but I mix up a nice slurry of baby brine, cyclopeze and arctic pods with two cups of tank water. I shut all pumps so there's no current. I spray once into the face of the shut polyps and wait up to an hour for all of 'em to come out. If they don't or are sort of slow, I spray a little again and wait. When they're all out, I douse 'em with the slurry and duke it out with the tangs to keep 'em away. I save about a 1/4 of the slurry and when just the actinics have been on for awhile and the polyps are open again, I spray the rest in the polyps and shut the lights. I do this every couple of days. Yeah, I know. I have too much time on my hands.
Just my experience,
Tom

be prepared to feed them alot! I tried to cut my feedings down to once or twice a week. it didnt work, it stopped opening up. took about 3 weeks of babying in my QT tank to get it back in shape. I used water to thaw out my brine shrimp, squirted it from a pipette over top of it to coax it open so I could feed it. about a week of that and it finally would open up all the way. they are very big eaters.

I rarely feed mine. It just catches whats in the water. I've had it for over 2 yrs now. I fed it at first but after a few months I just didn't for awhile and each time it was a longer span and now I feed it maybe once every 3-4 months if that.
