I have angered the gods

I don't know what I did, but apparently it was unforgivable because now there is a bobbit worm lurking in my 20g. I've set a water bottle trap for him, and no luck over the past few days. So I'm taking THE WHOLE TANK AND THROWING IT IN THE BULK TRASH BIN.

Before you do that try a mouse trap. Not the wood ones but those plastic ones. I've seen the work several times. The trick is to find something the worm wants while not catching your other animals.

Slapshot & friends-

thank you for this riveting tale. I created an account after reading this and may get a beginner set up now because my interest has been thoroughly piqued.

I hope you are all well, and bobbit-free!

Cheers
Glad it is still interesting to people. It's a nightmare I'm glad to have behind me!

thank you for this chronicle, I hope it stays up for years and years to come.

@slapshot, assuming one doesn't care about their aquarium and their sole goal was to eliminate a bobbit worm they found.. smashing the whole thing into pieces and exposing the worm would be an option for extraction, wouldnt it?

Nice to see you, or type to you. I hope all is well with you. Can you believe how long we’ve been on here? Listen to the radio broadcast it’s better than reading it lol.

no kiddin!

who would win? mantis vs bobbit? :D
So, the praying mantis is a total ninja of the insect world. It's got those crazy quick reflexes, lightning-fast speed, and those badass front arms to snatch up its prey. It's like the Bruce Lee of bugs, catching birds and lizards like a boss.
But wait, here comes the bobbit worm, lurking in the ocean floor like a sneaky assassin. It's huge compared to the mantis, growing several feet long! This worm knows how to play dirty, burying itself in the sand, ready to ambush anything that comes its way.
In this crazy face-off, my money would be on the bobbit worm. It's got the size advantage, and its surprise attack with those powerful jaws would be too much for the mantis to handle. The worm would chomp down on the mantis before it even knew what hit it.
